GroomGuard

GroomGuard is a web + mobile app (traditional + AI) for ski resort ops teams to measure and improve trail grooming quality using inexpensive phone-mounted sensors and optional snowcat telematics. Groomers record passes with a ruggedized phone; the app fuses GPS, accelerometer, speed, pitch/roll, and time-of-day to generate a “groom quality score” per trail segment and flag likely issues (washboarding, inconsistent corduroy, missed edges, over-speed). Supervisors get a live map showing coverage, rework needs, and a shift report that ties effort to outcomes. Guest services can reference objective grooming data when handling complaints and setting expectations. This is not glamorous: it’s operational accountability and repeatability. Resorts already spend heavily on grooming; this helps them spend smarter, reduce rework, and defend decisions when conditions change fast.
