GroupGauge

GroupGauge helps teachers form and manage effective small groups for instruction, projects, and interventions—without spending Sunday night in spreadsheets. You import a roster and optionally recent assessment scores, reading levels, IEP/ELL flags, behavior notes, and student preferences. The app generates grouping options (heterogeneous, homogeneous, skill-gap targeting, peer-support pairs) and explains the tradeoffs in plain language. During class, it provides quick group rosters, roles, timers, and a simple observation checklist so you can capture evidence fast. Afterward, it summarizes what worked, who needs reteaching, and suggests regrouping triggers (e.g., two sessions with low participation). It’s realistic: it won’t “solve” instruction, but it will reduce the admin load and make grouping decisions more consistent and defensible.
