GuiltGap
GuiltGap is a mobile + web AI-assisted money journaling app for people who feel shame after spending, debt slips, or “I should be better” financial decisions. Instead of budgeting harder, it helps users identify the emotional trigger, name the story (“I’m irresponsible”), and convert it into a small, realistic repair action (e.g., message a creditor, set a $20 buffer, cancel one subscription). Daily 2-minute check-ins capture guilt spikes, context, and the coping behavior (doom-scrolling, hiding purchases, overworking). The app then shows patterns (times, merchants, people, moods) and offers short, evidence-based prompts grounded in CBT/ACT principles. It also includes a private “repair plan” tracker that rewards follow-through, not perfection. The tone is blunt and non-cutesy: you can’t heal what you keep rationalizing, but you also don’t fix shame by punishment.
