HabitatProof

HabitatProof is a mobile + web app that helps conservation groups and local communities document habitat threats in a way regulators, courts, and journalists can actually use. Users capture photos/video with tamper-evident metadata (time, GPS, device signature), offline-first forms, and standardized incident templates (illegal clearing, road building, mining, dumping). The app auto-generates a shareable “evidence packet” with a map, timeline, witness notes, and chain-of-custody log. An AI layer flags likely land-cover change by comparing recent satellite tiles and highlights inconsistencies that would weaken a case. Reality check: this won’t “save habitats” by itself—success depends on partnerships with NGOs and legal teams who can act on the evidence. But it can dramatically reduce the friction and sloppiness that currently makes many reports unusable.
