HabitatProof
HabitatProof is a mobile + web app that helps conservation teams and citizen scientists collect endangered-species observations that are actually usable for enforcement, permitting, and habitat protection decisions. Users capture photos/video with automatic GPS, timestamp, and device attestation, then the app packages the record with a simple chain-of-custody log and offline-first syncing for remote areas. An AI layer suggests likely species from media, flags low-confidence IDs, and checks for common data-quality issues (blurry images, missing angles, inconsistent location). The web dashboard lets NGOs and researchers review submissions, request follow-ups, and export standardized reports for agencies. Realistically, the hard part is trust: agencies ignore messy, unverifiable data. This product focuses on making observations defensible, not just “more sightings,” while keeping the workflow fast enough that volunteers will actually use it.
