HearCheck is a mobile AI app that helps people catch early hearing loss and prevent further damage without pretending to replace an audiologist. It runs a calibrated-at-home hearing screening using common headphones, then continuously estimates daily noise exposure using the phone mic and optional Apple Watch/Android wearable data. Users get simple, actionable guidance: “You’re trending worse at 4 kHz,” “You exceeded safe exposure by 2x today,” and “Book a real test.” The app focuses on longitudinal change (which is what people actually need) rather than one-off results. It also includes a “conversation difficulty” check-in and a short speech-in-noise test that better reflects real life than pure tones. The business model is freemium: free tracking and basic tests, paid for trend reports, reminders, and clinician-ready exports.
