HeatSnap is a mobile AI app that turns a cheap plug-in thermal camera (or select phone-compatible thermal sensors) into a guided home energy audit. It walks users room-by-room with a checklist, captures thermal images, and automatically flags likely problem areas: missing insulation, air leaks around windows/doors, duct leaks, and hot water pipe losses. The app converts findings into a prioritized action plan with estimated savings ranges, DIY difficulty, and a shopping list. It also generates a simple report homeowners can share with landlords, contractors, or rebate programs. Brutal reality: without hardware, accuracy is mediocre; with a low-cost thermal add-on, it becomes genuinely useful. The goal isn’t perfect diagnostics—it’s helping people stop the most obvious heat loss quickly and avoid paying for a full audit when they don’t need one.
