HeirloomMap

HeirloomMap is a mobile + web app for families to document physical heirlooms (jewelry, tools, photos, recipes, letters) and attach the story behind each item before it’s lost. Users create a private family “vault,” add items with photos, provenance notes, and optional value/insurance info, then assign intended recipients with conditions (e.g., “when 25,” “after graduation”). A simple timeline shows transfers and custody, so items don’t disappear during moves, divorces, or estate cleanouts. The app also supports “story prompts” to help older relatives record short audio memories without needing to write. Exportable PDFs create a practical handoff packet for executors or family meetings. This isn’t a legal will replacement; it’s the missing layer that makes family legacy tangible and reduces conflict and confusion.
