HerdSense

HerdSense is a mobile + web AI app that ingests data from basic sources farmers already have—milk yields, weight records, vet logs, cheap Bluetooth tags, and even smartphone photos—to flag health issues and productivity problems early. Instead of promising sci‑fi precision, it focuses on a few brutally practical metrics: which animals are underperforming, which likely need vet attention soon, and where feed is being wasted. The app works offline-first for low-connectivity farms and syncs when a signal is available. It offers simple dashboards, SMS alerts for critical events, and basic benchmarking against similar farms in the region (using anonymized data). No fancy robotics, no mandatory expensive hardware—just a pragmatic layer of intelligence over existing workflows. It deliberately avoids trying to replace vets or nutritionists; it just helps farmers know when to call them and which animals to prioritize. The UI is stripped down for older, non-tech-savvy users, with local language support and voice prompts where possible. This is not a magic bullet, but a realistic, incremental tool to squeeze more value out of each animal while reducing avoidable losses.
