HerpResponder

HerpResponder is a mobile + web app for reptile/amphibian rescue groups to manage inbound calls/texts, triage urgency, and dispatch the right volunteer with the right gear. It replaces scattered Facebook posts, group chats, and spreadsheets with a single incident workflow: intake form, location pin, species/size notes, safety flags (venomous, aggressive, biohazard), and photo uploads. Volunteers get push alerts based on distance, availability, and skill tags, then accept/decline with ETA. The app logs chain-of-custody, outcome (relocated, surrendered, deceased), and basic compliance notes for local rules. A lightweight AI assist can suggest likely species from photos and generate a safe handling checklist, but it’s explicitly “best-effort” and always requires human confirmation. Admins get simple reporting: response times, hotspots, volunteer hours, and recurring callers—useful for grant reporting and training.
