HoldSense

HoldSense is a mobile + web app for indoor climbing gyms that shows real-time route and wall congestion so climbers stop wasting sessions waiting in lines. Gyms install a small number of low-cost overhead cameras (or use existing CCTV) and the app estimates occupancy per wall/zone and highlights “green” areas with open capacity. Climbers can check a live heatmap before leaving home, get suggested low-wait circuits based on grade, and receive alerts when a specific zone clears up. For gyms, it provides staffing and setting insights: peak times by zone, dwell time, and how new sets change traffic patterns. This is an AI-assisted app (computer vision), but the MVP can start with manual zone check-ins + simple sensors to prove demand before full automation. The value is practical: more climbing, less standing around.
