HoldSync
HoldSync is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) that reduces the day-to-day chaos around holds, paging, and interlibrary loan handoffs for small-to-mid libraries. It plugs into common ILS platforms via SIP2/NCIP where possible, and falls back to email/CSV workflows when integration is limited. Staff get a single queue that tracks each request from “pulled” to “shelved” to “picked up,” with time-stamped accountability and simple exception handling (missing item, damaged, patron no-show). Patrons receive consistent notifications and pickup windows regardless of branch, plus a clear status page that cuts “Is my hold ready?” calls. This is not a shiny discovery layer or a full ILS replacement—those markets are crowded and slow-moving. It’s a pragmatic operations layer focused on reducing staff interruptions, preventing mis-shelving, and improving turnaround time with minimal IT burden.
