HostLedger is a mobile + web app that helps community organizers run reliable meetups by using lightweight financial commitment. Hosts create an event, set a small refundable RSVP deposit (e.g., $5–$20), and define the refund rule (show up, check in by a time, or cancel before a deadline). Attendees pay the deposit, get a calendar hold, and receive an automatic refund after verified check-in. If they don’t show, the deposit is redistributed to attendees who did show (or donated to the group fund), reducing resentment and covering venue minimums. The app includes simple check-in via QR code, waitlist auto-promotion, and transparent event reliability stats for hosts and attendees. This is not a “find events” network; it’s an operations layer that plugs into existing communities and platforms and makes events actually happen.
