HSCodeGuard

HSCodeGuard is a web app with optional mobile companion that helps importers and customs brokers reduce tariff surprises by validating HS code classification and landed-cost assumptions before filing. Users upload a product sheet (description, materials, function, images, supplier info) and the app generates a defensible HS-code shortlist, flags high-risk ambiguities, and produces a “classification memo” with citations to relevant notes, rulings, and explanatory guidance. It also estimates duty/VAT under different origin scenarios and highlights where certificates (e.g., COO, FTA docs) materially change outcomes. This is not a magic autopilot: it’s a decision-support tool that forces structured inputs, shows confidence and rationale, and keeps an audit trail. The MVP focuses on a few high-volume categories (apparel, electronics accessories, household goods) and a limited set of jurisdictions, expanding as data quality improves.
