HushMeter

HushMeter is a web + mobile app that turns classroom noise into simple, consistent routines teachers can actually enforce. Using a phone/tablet mic (or an optional cheap USB mic on a classroom computer), it displays a large, color-coded noise gauge on the projector and logs noise levels by time of day, activity, and seating plan. Teachers set “zones” (silent, partner talk, group work) with thresholds and timers, then the app automatically awards points to the class (or table groups) for staying within the target range. It also flags patterns like “noise spikes during transitions” and suggests small, non-AI interventions (clearer directions, countdowns, seating tweaks). This is not magic: it won’t stop loud kids by itself. It’s a consistent measurement + incentives tool that reduces teacher nagging and makes expectations visible.
