HushRadar
HushRadar is a mobile app that maps real-world noise levels so people can choose quieter routes, cafes, parks, and work spots. Users (and optionally their phone mic) contribute decibel readings tagged with time-of-day, indoor/outdoor, and context (traffic, construction, crowd). The app shows a “quiet score” heatmap, predicts noisy hours, and suggests alternative paths that trade a small detour for less sound exposure. It also includes a simple hearing-safety mode: alerts when you’ve been in high dB zones too long and recommends breaks. This is not a miracle medical product; it’s a practical decision tool. The hard part is data quality and coverage, so the MVP focuses on a few dense cities and incentives for contributors (streaks, badges, local leaderboards) plus partnerships with libraries/coworking spaces to seed verified quiet locations.
