HybridTCO
HybridTCO is a mobile + web app that compares hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and mild hybrids using total cost of ownership (TCO) instead of marketing MPG. Users enter their real driving mix (city/highway, commute length, charging access, electricity rate, gas price, climate) and the app outputs a ranked list with expected monthly cost, break-even time vs. non-hybrid alternatives, and sensitivity ranges (best/worst case). It also flags common “gotchas” like short-trip inefficiency, cold-weather penalties, and whether a PHEV only makes sense if you actually plug in. The app pulls incentives by ZIP code and estimates depreciation using historical resale trends. An AI layer helps translate messy user inputs into a clean scenario and explains why a given model wins for that user—without pretending it can predict the future perfectly.
