HybridTruth is a mobile + web app (traditional app with light AI) that helps shoppers compare hybrids using realistic total cost of ownership (TCO), not optimistic MPG claims. Users pick two to five models and enter their driving profile (city/highway mix, annual miles, climate, electricity price, gas price, parking/charging access). The app estimates monthly fuel spend, maintenance deltas (brakes, tires, oil, battery warranty risk bands), depreciation ranges, and incentives—then shows a clear “break-even” timeline versus a comparable gas car. It also includes a “deal sanity check” that flags overpriced trims and add-ons based on recent listing data. The AI component summarizes owner-reported pros/cons from public sources into concise, comparable bullets and highlights recurring issues by model year. This is not a magic oracle: it’s a decision tool that makes trade-offs explicit and reduces buyer regret.
