IceAlert

IceAlert is a web + mobile AI app that predicts and detects wind turbine blade icing risk and likely power-loss events using weather forecasts, SCADA signals, and simple site metadata. It focuses on operators who don’t have high-end condition monitoring or who run mixed fleets where OEM tools are fragmented. The app ingests forecast data (temperature, humidity, precipitation type, wind speed), correlates it with turbine underperformance patterns, and outputs an actionable “icing risk window” with recommended actions: curtailment timing, de-icing run suggestions (if available), and maintenance dispatch prioritization. It also produces post-event reports estimating lost energy and verifying whether icing was the probable cause versus grid limits or wake effects. This is not a magic autopilot: accuracy will vary by site and sensor quality, but even a moderately reliable early-warning system can reduce unnecessary truck rolls and shorten icing-related downtime.
