IconAtlas
IconAtlas is a mobile + web app for identifying, verifying, and contextualizing religious art and symbols in museums, churches, books, and online listings. Users snap a photo or paste an image URL, then get a structured result: tradition/denomination, approximate period, common variants, typical materials, and a confidence score with citations. It also flags likely misattributions and modern reproductions, and provides respectful usage notes (e.g., when an image is considered liturgical, restricted, or culturally sensitive). The app is built for practical decisions: collectors avoiding fakes, educators preparing lessons, and clergy/volunteers cataloging parish items. It includes a lightweight catalog tool to create an inventory with photos, provenance notes, and condition tags. This is not a “spiritual horoscope” app; it’s a reference and verification utility with clear uncertainty and sources.
