IdleHawk

IdleHawk is a web app (with a lightweight Slack/Teams bot) that focuses on one unglamorous but expensive problem: resources that are technically “running” but effectively unused. Instead of trying to be a full FinOps suite, it connects read-only to AWS, Azure, and GCP, then flags idle compute, orphaned volumes/snapshots, abandoned load balancers/IPs, and over-provisioned databases using simple, explainable heuristics (not black-box predictions). It generates a weekly “kill list” with estimated savings, blast-radius notes, and one-click Jira tickets with owner routing based on tags, IAM, and repo metadata. The goal is to make waste deletion operationally safe: approvals, maintenance windows, and auto-remediation playbooks for the low-risk items. It’s brutally pragmatic: if you can’t confidently delete it, it won’t pretend you can.
