ILLRoute
ILLRoute is a web app (with optional mobile-friendly staff view) that helps libraries reduce interlibrary-loan delays by improving request routing, lender selection, and patron communication. It plugs into existing ILL workflows (e.g., via ISO 18626/NCIP where available, plus configurable email parsing when integrations are limited) to consolidate statuses from multiple systems into one dashboard. The app scores potential lenders using local rules (cost caps, preferred partners, fill-rate history, shipping time, format constraints) and recommends the next-best lender when a request stalls. Patrons get clearer, automated updates (“awaiting lender response,” “in transit,” “needs pickup confirmation”) to reduce “any update?” calls. This is not magic: if your consortium data is messy or integrations are blocked, benefits shrink. But for libraries juggling multiple networks and manual follow-ups, it can measurably cut staff time and days-to-fill.
