IMEITrace is a mobile + web app that helps buyers and small resellers reduce the risk of purchasing stolen, financed, or carrier-blocked phones. Users scan or type the IMEI/serial, and the app returns a simple risk summary: blacklist status (where available), carrier lock likelihood, model/storage match, and a checklist of red flags to confirm in-person (activation test, Face/Touch ID reset, iCloud/FRP status, battery health screenshot). For sellers, it generates a “Verified Listing Card” with time-stamped checks and photos to share on Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, or Craigslist. It also stores receipts, chat screenshots, and meetup details in a “deal folder” so disputes are easier to resolve. This won’t magically eliminate fraud—data is imperfect and some checks are regional—but it can meaningfully cut bad buys for people doing frequent transactions.
