INCIShield is a mobile app (iOS/Android) that helps shoppers avoid body-wash, lotion, and deodorant ingredients that trigger irritation, acne, eczema, or fragrance headaches. You scan a barcode or label, and the app flags likely irritants (e.g., certain fragrances, preservatives, surfactants) based on your personal sensitivity profile. It also suggests simpler alternatives available at common retailers, and lets you log reactions over time to improve accuracy. This is an AI + traditional app: AI is used for OCR on ingredient lists, ingredient normalization (INCI name matching), and personalized risk scoring; the rest is a standard product database and user profile system. The app is realistic because it doesn’t promise medical diagnosis—just practical “avoid lists,” clearer explanations, and faster shopping decisions for bath and body products.
