IndexPilot

IndexPilot is a web app + lightweight agent that continuously audits production query patterns and recommends safe, high-impact index changes. It connects read-only to Postgres/MySQL, pulls query stats (e.g., pg_stat_statements / performance_schema), and runs a what-if simulator to estimate latency and cost impact before you touch production. It then generates migration-ready DDL with rollback steps, flags risky indexes (write amplification, low selectivity, bloat), and tracks results after deployment. This is not a magic “optimize everything” tool; it focuses on the most common, expensive failure mode in real systems: missing or wrong indexes and stale statistics. The product is opinionated: it prioritizes a small number of actionable recommendations, with clear confidence scores and measurable expected wins. Teams can schedule weekly reports or integrate with Slack/Jira to turn recommendations into tickets.
