InkMixCalc

InkMixCalc is a mobile + web app for printmakers who waste time (and paper) trying to recreate yesterday’s perfect ink color. You log a mix as simple “parts” (e.g., 3 parts carbon black, 1 part burnt umber, 0.5 part extender), attach a photo, and the app converts it into gram-accurate recipes for any target batch size. It also tracks ink brand, modifiers (tack reducer, transparent base), paper type, and drying notes so you can actually repeat results across editions. A lightweight AI assist can estimate a starting mix ratio from a photo of a proof next to a reference swatch, but the core value is the scaling + recordkeeping that works even when the AI is wrong. This is not a glamorous app, but it’s the kind that saves real studio time and reduces costly re-proofing.
