InvertCare

InvertCare is a mobile + web app that standardizes basic welfare practices for commonly kept invertebrates (fruit flies, crickets, mealworms, snails, bees, spiders) in teaching labs, research labs, and school insect kits. It provides species-specific husbandry checklists, humane handling guidance, enrichment/feeding schedules, and a simple audit trail for temperature, humidity, density, and mortality events. The app is intentionally conservative: it won’t pretend to “prove” welfare, but it will help teams reduce avoidable suffering and improve consistency. An AI layer can answer “what should we do now?” questions using vetted protocols and your logged conditions, while clearly citing sources and uncertainty. Exportable reports support internal ethics reviews, grant compliance narratives, and classroom documentation. This is not a consumer pet app; it’s a lightweight compliance and operations tool for institutions that already keep invertebrates and need fewer mistakes, clearer SOPs, and better records.
