IRBPreflight

IRBPreflight is a web app (with optional desktop add-on) that helps researchers and study coordinators run a fast, structured “ethics pre-check” before submitting to an IRB/REC. It guides users through a dynamic questionnaire based on study type (human subjects, biospecimens, secondary data, vulnerable populations, deception, incentives, international sites) and generates a concise risk-and-mitigation report plus a submission-ready checklist. It also flags common failure points: unclear consent language, missing data retention plans, weak de-identification, coercive recruitment, and inadequate adverse event handling. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI suggests improvements and highlights ambiguous sections in uploaded protocols/consent drafts, but the output is framed as “recommendations,” not approvals. The goal is fewer bounced submissions, faster review cycles, and clearer documentation for ethics committees.
