IzakayaMap

IzakayaMap is a mobile + web app that helps people choose izakayas in Japan with confidence by translating the “real” signals tourists miss: menu style, seating rules, smoking policy, cover charges (otoshi), noise level, payment methods, and whether solo diners are welcome. It combines structured venue data with photo-based menu translation and short cultural explainers (e.g., how to order, what to say, what’s rude). Users can filter by vibe (quiet, rowdy, date-friendly), dietary constraints, and budget, then get a simple ordering script and a recommended first round (drink + 2 dishes) based on region and season. The app also supports offline “neighborhood packs” for areas with spotty connectivity. Monetization is realistic: affiliate bookings where available, premium offline packs, and optional concierge-style curated lists for frequent travelers. This is a combination traditional + AI app.
