JargonLens
JargonLens is a web app (with optional Slack/Teams add-ons) that helps interdisciplinary teams stop talking past each other. Upload a paper, grant draft, meeting transcript, or glossary, and it produces a shared “concept map” that links terms across fields (e.g., what a biologist means by “fitness” vs. what an economist means). It highlights likely false friends, conflicting assumptions, and measurement mismatches, then suggests neutral definitions the team can agree on. The app also generates a lightweight project lexicon with citations to sources, version history, and “who agreed to what” notes so it doesn’t devolve into endless debates. This is an AI app plus traditional collaboration features: the AI does extraction, mapping, and suggestions; humans approve and lock definitions. It’s realistic because it focuses on a narrow, frequent failure point in interdisciplinary work: terminology and operationalization drift.
