JargonMap

JargonMap is a web app (with optional browser extension) that helps interdisciplinary teams align vocabulary, constructs, and measurement choices before they waste months talking past each other. Users upload a few key artifacts (paper PDFs, grant aims, interview guides, codebooks, variable lists). The app builds a shared “concept map” that links equivalent terms across fields, flags ambiguous words (e.g., “model,” “significance,” “validity”), and suggests operational definitions with citations back to the source text. It also generates a lightweight team glossary and a “methods compatibility checklist” that highlights mismatches (units, scales, sampling frames, causal assumptions, IRB constraints). This is an AI app plus traditional workflow tooling: the AI proposes mappings, but the team must approve changes, leaving an auditable trail. The goal is fewer miscommunications, cleaner study design, and faster collaboration kickoff.
