KamiCalendar
KamiCalendar is a mobile + web app that aggregates Shinto shrine schedules (matsuri, seasonal rites, opening hours, goshuin availability, closures) into one reliable calendar. The brutal truth: most shrine info is scattered across outdated websites, PDFs, posters, or Japanese-only social posts, so travelers and local devotees routinely miss events or show up when services aren’t offered. The app focuses on accuracy over breadth by using a “verified listing” model: shrines can claim their page, submit updates, and confirm recurring events; users can report discrepancies with photo proof. It supports bilingual listings (JP/EN), timezone-aware reminders, and route planning. This is a traditional app with light AI assistance for translation suggestions and duplicate detection, but humans and shrine admins remain the source of truth. Monetization: freemium (saved calendars, alerts) plus paid “verified shrine tools” for admin dashboards and analytics.
