KashrutProof
KashrutProof helps Jews in Israel and the diaspora quickly verify whether a packaged product is kosher in their current country, even when labels, symbols, and languages differ. Users scan a barcode or take a photo of the hechsher and ingredients; the app returns a confidence-rated status based on a maintained database of certifiers, country-specific standards, and community-specific stringencies (e.g., Chalav Yisrael, Pas Yisrael, kitniyot on Pesach). It also flags common pitfalls like look-alike symbols, outdated certifications, and products whose status varies by production site. The app is realistic about uncertainty: when it can’t confirm, it says so and offers a “ask your rabbi” export with all evidence (photos, batch codes, links). Monetization is a subscription for advanced filters, offline travel packs, and family sharing; a free tier covers basic scans.
