KerningRunes
KerningRunes is a web + desktop app that helps people typeset and publish text in non-Latin and historic writing systems without the usual font chaos. Users import a font (or pick from an open library), paste text, and the app flags common rendering issues: missing glyphs, broken combining marks, bad kerning pairs, line-height collisions, and unsupported OpenType features. It then generates a “fix pack” (OpenType feature code suggestions, kerning tables, and fallback font stacks) plus export-ready PDFs and web CSS snippets. It’s not magic: it won’t invent authentic glyphs for dead scripts without sources, but it will save hours of trial-and-error and reduce embarrassing publication errors. The MVP focuses on a narrow set of scripts (e.g., Arabic, Devanagari, Thai, Hebrew) where real publishing pain exists and expands based on demand.
