KidLens

KidLens is a mobile + web app that helps parents decide what’s actually age-appropriate before their child watches it. Instead of relying on vague ratings, it generates a short “why it’s OK / not OK” breakdown: themes, scary moments, violence level, language, sexual content, and manipulative ads or influencer tactics. Parents can paste a YouTube link, search a title, or scan a QR code on a TV screen to get an instant summary and recommended age range. It also offers “parent presets” (e.g., no jump scares, no bullying, no weapons) and creates a curated watchlist that can be shared with co-parents and grandparents. Reality check: it won’t perfectly classify every video, and it can’t control every platform, but it can dramatically reduce the time parents spend previewing content and arguing about what’s acceptable.
