KidReceipt
KidReceipt is a mobile + web parental-controls companion that turns kids’ media consumption into a simple “receipt” parents can actually understand. Instead of only blocking by age rating or keywords, it summarizes what a child watched (themes, intensity, risky topics, ads/sponsorships, and persuasion tactics) and flags sudden content shifts (e.g., harmless gaming clips to edgy prank content). Parents get a daily digest, optional real-time alerts, and a one-tap “why was this flagged?” explanation with timestamps. It also suggests calmer alternatives based on the child’s interests and the family’s rules (no horror, limit influencer ads, avoid sexual content, etc.). It’s realistic about limitations: it won’t perfectly classify everything, and some platforms restrict data access. The MVP focuses on YouTube and local device playback first, then expands as integrations allow.
