KindMirror
KindMirror is a mobile AI app that helps people practice self-compassion in moments they usually spiral: after mistakes, rejection, conflict, or procrastination. Instead of generic affirmations, it guides users through a short, evidence-based flow: name the trigger, label the inner critic’s script, reframe with a kinder (but believable) response, and choose one tiny next action. The AI is constrained to a “coach” role with strict guardrails: it won’t diagnose, won’t do therapy talk, and won’t pretend to be a friend. Users build a personal “Compassion Library” of phrases that actually work for them, tagged by situation (work, body image, parenting, dating). The app tracks patterns (times, triggers, themes) and nudges users to practice when they’re most vulnerable, not when they’re already fine. It’s designed to feel practical, fast, and private—more like a mental first-aid kit than a wellness feed.
