KitRecall
KitRecall helps skiers, snowboarders, and water-sports athletes track safety recalls and service bulletins for their equipment. Users scan barcodes/QR codes or manually add brand, model, and year for items like avalanche beacons, bindings, helmets, PFDs, drysuits, and wetsuits. The app then monitors official recall feeds, manufacturer notices, and regulatory databases and pushes alerts when a match is found, including clear “what to do next” steps (stop-use guidance, inspection steps, repair/replace links, and local service centers). It also stores proof-of-purchase photos, warranty dates, and service history so users can act quickly when something goes wrong. This is not a glamorous app, but it targets a real safety gap: most people only hear about recalls via forums or luck. The MVP focuses on accurate matching and actionable alerts, not social features.
