You scan a product label or listing photos; the app extracts materials, flags high-risk terms (e.g., “genuine leather,” “fur trim”), and assigns a simple risk score based on ambiguity, country-of-origin cues, and common supply-chain patterns. It then suggests lower-impact alternatives (plant-based, recycled, certified sources) and provides a short, non-preachy explanation you can paste into resale listings or messages to brands. The app is realistic about limits: it cannot prove species or farm conditions from a label, and it clearly marks confidence levels. Over time, it builds a crowdsourced database of brand material disclosures and whether they publish traceability or third-party certifications.
