LabelLens

LabelLens is a mobile AI app that teaches practical health literacy through everyday shopping. Users scan nutrition labels and supplement facts, and the app translates them into plain-language explanations: what each ingredient does, what evidence exists, typical effective dose ranges, and common red flags (proprietary blends, megadoses, misleading “immune support” claims). It also explains marketing terms like “natural,” “clinically proven,” and “detox,” with short lessons that build a user’s knowledge over time. The app avoids giving medical advice; it focuses on education, evidence strength, and questions to ask your clinician. A “Learn Mode” turns scans into bite-sized quizzes so users actually retain concepts like serving sizes, %DV, and interactions (e.g., iron + calcium timing). Monetization can be freemium: free scans with limits, paid unlimited scans and family profiles.
