LabelLens is a mobile AI app that turns appliance energy labels and model numbers into practical, personalized efficiency guidance. Users scan the EnergyGuide/EPREL label (or type a model number), then enter their local electricity rate and typical usage (hours/day, cycles/week). The app estimates monthly and annual running cost, compares it to similar models, and shows the payback period for replacing vs keeping. It also flags common “silent wasters” like old freezers, dehumidifiers, and space heaters, and suggests low-effort settings changes (temperature setpoints, eco modes, maintenance reminders). It’s brutally realistic: if replacing won’t pay back within a reasonable window, it says so. Optional integrations let users import smart plug or utility data, but the core value works without extra hardware.
