LabelLens
LabelLens is a mobile app (with an optional web dashboard) that turns grocery shopping into a personalized nutrition decision. You scan a barcode or take a photo of the nutrition label/ingredients, and the app returns a “Fit Score” based on your goals (weight loss, IBS triggers, cholesterol, sodium sensitivity), preferences (vegan, halal, low-FODMAP), and constraints (allergies, medications that interact with nutrients). It also flags hidden additives and suggests realistic swaps available at common retailers. This is an AI-assisted app: OCR extracts label data, an LLM explains tradeoffs in plain language, and a rules engine enforces safety constraints (e.g., kidney disease potassium limits). Users can optionally connect wearables and meal logs to refine recommendations over time. It’s not a miracle diet coach; it’s a practical shopping copilot that reduces decision fatigue and label confusion.
