LabelLens
LabelLens is a mobile app (with optional web dashboard) that helps shoppers evaluate health and wellness products in grocery aisles—supplements, protein powders, vitamins, functional drinks, and “natural” remedies. You scan a barcode or label photo and get a plain-English breakdown: ingredient purpose, common side effects, interaction risks (e.g., SSRIs, blood thinners), dosage sanity checks, and whether claims are supported by credible evidence. It also flags common marketing tricks (proprietary blends, under-dosed actives, pixie-dust ingredients) and highlights third-party testing signals (NSF, USP, Informed Choice) when present. The app can build a personal “avoid list” based on allergies, dietary restrictions, and medications, then warn you in real time while shopping. It does not diagnose or replace medical advice; it’s a decision-support tool to reduce bad purchases and prevent obvious mistakes.
