LabelSentry is a mobile app (iOS/Android) that helps people with food and medication allergies quickly interpret ingredient lists and warning statements. Users set an allergy profile (e.g., peanuts, shellfish, penicillin, lactose, gluten) and then scan a product label or pharmacy leaflet. The app highlights likely triggers, common synonyms, and “may contain/processed in” risk language, and generates a simple red/yellow/green summary with the exact phrases that caused the flag. It also stores a scan history for repeat purchases and lets users share a read-only “allergy card” with caregivers. This is an AI + traditional app: AI OCR/NLP extracts and normalizes text; rules-based logic and curated synonym lists keep results consistent. It is not a medical device replacement—users still must verify with packaging and clinicians.
