LabSpecLog

LabSpecLog is a web + desktop companion app for materials labs that captures, standardizes, and indexes spectroscopy and diffraction outputs (XRD, Raman, FTIR, XPS) alongside sample metadata. Instead of scattering files across shared drives, it enforces a lightweight schema (sample ID, prep route, instrument settings, operator, date, environment) and auto-generates consistent previews and reports. An AI layer extracts key peaks/features, suggests likely phase/functional group candidates, and flags obvious issues (wrong units, missing calibration, suspicious baselines) without pretending to “solve” characterization. The core value is fast retrieval: search by composition, peak position, processing conditions, or project, then compare runs side-by-side with versioned annotations. It integrates with common instrument export formats and can push finalized datasets to institutional repositories. This is not a replacement for expert judgment; it’s a practical system to stop losing time and data.
