LanePulse
LanePulse is a mobile app (iOS/Android) that delivers lane-specific traffic updates for commuters on highways and complex interchanges. Instead of generic “slowdown ahead,” it focuses on what drivers actually need: which lanes are moving, where merges are failing, and which exits are backing up. It combines public DOT incident feeds, anonymized phone sensor patterns (speed/braking), and optional user voice reports to generate short, high-confidence alerts. The app avoids full turn-by-turn navigation (where incumbents dominate) and instead works as a lightweight companion that runs in the background and pushes only actionable notifications. Users can set “commute corridors” and get alerts like “Right two lanes stopped 0.8 mi before Exit 14; left lanes flowing.” Realistically, coverage will start in a few metro areas where data quality is strong and expand as partnerships and usage grow.
