LarvaLens
LarvaLens is a mobile + web AI app for hatcheries raising shrimp, bivalves, and marine finfish larvae. It uses a phone camera (or cheap USB microscope) to capture short videos of larvae and automatically scores key health signals: activity level, swimming patterns, deformities, gut fullness proxies, and contamination indicators (e.g., ciliates). The app then flags abnormal trends, suggests likely causes (oxygen, ammonia, feed particle size, bacterial bloom), and generates a simple “do this now” checklist. It also logs water parameters and feeding events so you can correlate husbandry actions with survival. Reality check: it won’t replace a skilled hatchery tech or lab diagnostics, and accuracy will vary by species and lighting. But it can provide earlier warning than manual spot checks and create consistent records across shifts.
