LatencyLens
LatencyLens is a web + mobile app that measures true end-to-end broadcast latency and drift across OTA, cable, OTT, and social streams using simple “beacon” events. You trigger a short audio/visual marker (or schedule one) at the source, and remote participants (or your own devices) capture when it actually appears on their feed. The app aggregates results into a live latency map by platform, CDN, device type, geography, and player settings, highlighting outliers and jitter. It also tracks lip-sync offset and timecode alignment for multi-feed productions. Broadcasters can finally quantify “how late” each distribution path is, prove SLA issues to vendors, and choose the lowest-latency configuration for live sports, news, and interactive shows. Reports export to engineering and vendor tickets with evidence, not guesses.
