LeakLatch is a mobile + web app that turns cheap water sensors and smart shutoff valves into a practical, insurance-friendly leak prevention system. It monitors moisture sensors (under sinks, near water heaters, behind toilets) and learns normal water-flow patterns from a compatible smart valve or meter. When it detects an abnormal flow or a confirmed leak, it escalates: push alerts, SMS/call, and—if you approve rules—automatic shutoff. The app keeps an incident timeline (sensor triggered, flow spike, shutoff action), making it easier to file claims or prove mitigation. Setup is intentionally boring: guided placement, battery checks, monthly “test leak” reminders, and a simple dashboard that shows risk by room. This isn’t a futuristic smart home hub; it’s a narrowly focused tool to prevent one of the most expensive, common home disasters.
