LeaseLens is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps small-to-mid landlords screen applicants with a clear, explainable “risk story” instead of a black-box pass/fail. It pulls applicant-consented data (credit, eviction, criminal where legally allowed), verifies identity, and adds lightweight fraud signals (document tampering checks, selfie/ID match, duplicate applicant patterns). The core output is a plain-English summary: what matters, what’s missing, and what to verify next—plus jurisdiction-aware compliance prompts (e.g., adverse action notices, local restrictions, and consistent criteria templates). The app also standardizes your screening policy so decisions are consistent across applicants, reducing fair-housing risk. Realistically, this won’t replace incumbent credit bureaus; it sits on top of them and wins by making results understandable, auditable, and faster for non-expert landlords.
